BOOK BLURB/ SYNOPSIS: As soldiers who
have just returned from war, we fight a separate war daily in an attempt to
leave the war behind. Many soldiers, just like myself, come home from war only
to fight a separate internal battle, with debilitating illnesses such as post
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. It was important for me to
share my story not only for myself but for those who have fought, for those who
have fallen, and for those who continue to wage war in order for the United
States of America to continue to remain free. The price of freedom is not free.
War
is chaos, and many soldiers bear the scars from it for the rest of our lives.
Meet Author & Poet: Michael Lee Womack
I am
Author & Poet: Michael Lee Womack, and I was born in the small town of
Sanford, NC on the seventeenth day of February of 1987. I was born with
pneumonia, and the doctors didn't think that I would make it. I'm thankful that
God had a purpose for my life, and it was my journey of writing my most recent
book, "From A Soldier's Perspective" that has helped me figure out my
purpose. I believe that God has delivered me through so many of life's struggles
so that I would be able to assist many other people who are struggling to get
through their own struggles of life. My
parents divorced whenever I was five years old, so as a result, my sister, as
well as my mother and I moved around quite often. I graduated high school in
May of 2005, and about a month after that I enlisted in The United States Army.
I honorably served my country for eight years and ten months.
I started writing poetry in middle
school because I was very shy whenever it came to speaking to the ladies, and I
needed a voice. I would find that much needed voice through my love for poetry.
I am now a full time writer and I find my joy by interacting with readers,
sharing with people my passion, as well as the books that I've written. Now
days I write for a different reason. Whenever I was medically discharged from
The United States Army I had a very difficult time adjusting to civilian life.
I had fell into a deep, dark depression, and it was the writing of my newest
book, "From A Soldier's Perspective" that had helped me love myself
again. Writing this book was very therapeutic for me, and I'm confident that it
will be just as therapeutic for those who read it. I did a lot of reading
whenever I was in school because of a program that we had that was called
"The Accelerated Reader Program". Whenever I was in grade school I
really enjoyed reading books that were by "Laura Ingalls Wilder", and
now I enjoy reading books by The New York Times Bestselling Author formally
known as Zane. One of the most recent happy moments of my life was whenever I
met her a month ago on the 1st of June at a book signing that she did at The
Books A Million in Jacksonville, Florida for her most recently released book,
"VENGEANCE". I have recommended to a lot of veterans that they try to
keep a journal or do some form of writing, and I've learned that it has been
very therapeutic for others just like myself.
